Tuesday ukulele kid’s class

Interactive music fun with live ukulele songs for you and your pre-schoolers!

We perform songs and encourage your children to play the ukulele, shakers, drums and other musical instruments as part of a musical story journey! Our songs include modern pop songs to get everyone’s day started in a positive way.

Fun interactive games within the story teach children language skills, counting, about concepts such as animals, seasons or space, co-ordination through dance and more – all in line with EYFS.

Who we are

The class is performed by Penny or Zee, who just returned from performing at Camp Bestival on the second biggest stage, and Gina, who has a first class honours degree in music, a postgraduate in music composition and extensive experience of teaching music to children.

Why music?

Being exposed to music during early development has many benefits. It’s direct effect on the brain is undisputed. The process of making music, singing and trying different instruments helps little ones to learn the sound and meanings of words, not to mention significant memory and cognitive skills improvement.

This is pivotal in enabling children’s self-expression and building motor skills.

Why choose ukeboxbaby?

Ukeboxbaby stories, transport everyone to another world of music and exploration, using handmade props, bubbles, a parachute, toys, and very creative activities. It is an extremely creative class, where there is always an element of the unexpected!

Older children or parents can have a go at playing a one-chord song on the ukulele. There are lots of instruments for children to try, and we modify activities for the older and younger ones.
